Genetic Counselling Program
Genetic counselling is an educational counselling process for individuals and families who have inherited cancer risk. Generally, a genetic counsellor discusses genetic risks and also provides information and support in order to facilitate informed decision-making. This may be done when you are planning or expecting a baby.
Who needs genetic counselling?
There are various reasons why one may decide to seek genetic counselling. You could consider it if you have a family history of a specific type of cancer, if you are pregnant / planning a baby after age 35 or above or have had abnormal ultrasound results that suggest a problem.
